Celebrate Read for the Record On October 19, 2017!

One of my favorite days to celebrate reading is Jumpstart's Read for the Record!

This year it is on October 19, 2017.
On this day, we celebrate the importance of reading, especially building early literacy and language skills for every child.  We do this by asking everyone to read the same book in their library, classroom and community throughout the day.

This year the book is Quakers by Liz Wong.  You can preview the book here. It is available in English and Spanish.
To participate, you can Read, Connect and Succeed....just like this little post says.

Please read through this for some wonderful tips on making it the best Read for the Record Day yet!
On the Read for the Record page, you will find everything you need to participate in the event including Activity Sheets, Reading Guides, lyrics....
and these amazing Event Guides that will be so helpful in planning your special day.
And check out this little craft idea!  How cute is that.

You will find all of the resources here.  They will be adding the posters, certificates, bookmarks, and more very soon too.

I hope that you participate and read for the record with others around the world on October 19.

You can sign up here!
